- Italian Dessert Class in Rome: Gelato and Tiramisu


Tiramisu is undoubtedly the most famous Italian dessert in the world—but who makes the best in town? In this hands-on class, we'll learn how to create the perfect artisanal tiramisu, from the preparation of the cookies to the final flavor. No more watching: we'll follow a complete step-by-step guide and make everything ourselves, guided by an expert chef.
The experience begins with an introduction to the world of gelato: we'll taste different flavors and understand the differences between ice cream, gelato, and sorbet (water-based gelato). With our palates trained to recognize good ingredients, we'll walk just three minutes to the cooking class location, where we'll immerse ourselves in the world of tiramisu. We'll discuss the importance of choosing fresh, organic ingredients, and then we'll get our hands dirty.
With aprons on and under the chef's supervision, we'll prepare our own tiramisu and a homemade sorbet made with fresh, seasonal fruit. The class lasts about 1.5 hours and takes place in a true pastry laboratory, inside a tiramisu specialty shop.
At the end, we'll savor our creations and take home the recipes to recreate. The experience is ideal for everyone, including those with dietary restrictions like gluten or lactose.
