Evening: Transfer from hotel to bus station in Istanbul for overnight bus to Cappadocia Overnight bus to Cappadocia (takes about 12 hours)
Day 2
Arrive in Cappadocia early in the morning and transfer to our office for a brief tour briefing, followed by a hike to the "Fairy Chimneys" in Devrent Valley, Pasabag (Monks) Valley, and practice pottery making using the ancient technique in Avanos. Next, visit Göreme, home to its "open-air museum," home to the earliest churches and chapels carved into fairy chimneys and featuring the finest examples of frescoes. Also see Pigeon Valley and the petrified valley of Uçhisar, home to the highest point in the region. Dinner and overnight at a 4-star hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 3
Visit the Hospital Monastery. Hike to the "wonderland" of Kizilçukur (Red Valley) and the village of Çavusin with its rock-cut dwellings. Kaymakli Underground City, a rock-cut city eight or nine levels underground where early Christians used to hide from Roman and Byzantine persecution. Explore the rock formations at Çatalkaya. Enjoy a fantastic overview of the fairy chimneys of Esentepe. Dinner and overnight at a 4* hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 4
Breakfast at the hotel and departure after breakfast to see the world-famous Ihlara Valley, which descends to the canyon floor. Along the way, enjoy stunning natural views. Dinner and overnight at a 4* hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 5
On our last day, we'll visit Mustafa Pasa, which was inhabited by Greek Orthodox families until the early 20th century. Next, we'll take a stroll around Lake Damsa before visiting the Keslik Monastery, Archangelos. After lunch, we'll visit Soganli, where we hope to see local women baking bread, as they have for centuries. The journey continues to Taskinpasa, where you'll enjoy a wonderful view, and then to Cemil, where you'll see a famous Greek church.
In the evening, transfer to the bus station to catch the night bus to Istanbul.
