Depart Plaza de Oriente toward the magnificent Puerta de Toledo. Did you know its construction dates back to the Napoleonic occupation? Once again on the bus, you'll see Madrid's oldest bridge, and alongside the Manzanares River, you'll have spectacular views of the Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral. We'll cross the main street toward Puerta del Sol and Las Cortes on our way to Paseo del Prado. Admire the architecture of the heart of old Madrid, arriving at the Barrio de las Letras.
Among the different landmarks you'll see on board the bus are the Cibeles fountain, where Real Madrid fans celebrate their team's victories, and Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the five ancient gates that gave access to Madrid. We'll end the tour by seeing the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Paseo de la Castellana, and Plaza de Colón.
But no visit to Madrid would be complete without a visit to the Royal Palace. Therefore, a local guide will take you and your group there, and you'll tour it together. Skip the lines and fully immerse yourself in the history of this beautiful place. Did you know that it's twice the size of Buckingham Palace? Built in the Italian Baroque style, it was the former residence of the Spanish monarchy between 1766 and 1931. Today, it remains a prime example of Madrid's establishment as the capital of the kingdom.
Today, the most important receptions of the Royal Crown are held here. Discover which audiences, gala dinners, and agreement signings have taken place over the years. Stroll through the Plaza de Armas. Marvel at the impressive tapestries and rooms decorated with elegant antique furniture.
