- Champagne - Reims & Epernay
Reims, in the Champagne region of France, is a beautiful city with many medieval buildings, including the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral, a Gothic-style church built in the 13th century that became the official coronation site for the vast majority of French kings.
There's nothing like taking a short city tour to visit Reims's essential attractions: the Cathedral, but also the Palais de Tau, the former episcopal palace, and the Place Royale, one of the city's most important places, which featured a statue of Louis XIV, which was destroyed during the Revolution.
We'll see the Hôtel de Ville, with its richly decorated Renaissance-style facade, and finally, we'll reach the Mars Gate, the city's oldest monument, measuring 33 meters wide and 13 meters high. It's the widest arch in the Roman world.
Next, we will learn about the history of Champagne, the sparkling wine that the monk Dom Pérignon was the first to produce in the region in the 17th century, soon after being imitated by other producers in the region.
Additionally, Epernay, the region's capital, is where you can visit the cellars of major Champagne brands, including Möet & Chandon, which offers guided tours in Portuguese. Afterwards, we'll have a stroll through the historic center and a visit to the majestic Gothic cathedral.

We don't recommend taking this tour during the winter, as the main cellars are closed. If you'd like, we recommend checking which cellars are open, and please note that the tour will be in French or English.
