We will leave the hotel to begin a panoramic tour of Cartagena's main neighborhoods, such as Bocagrande, Castillogrande, and Manga, where we will see the combination of modern architecture, historical charm, and the city's coastal life. Next, we will arrive at the imposing Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, where we will visit one of the most important military engineering works of the colonial era. Accompanied by a specialized guide, we will explore its passages, walls, and strategic viewpoints, while learning about its relevance in the city's defense.
Afterwards, we'll take a pleasant walk through Cartagena's walled city, admiring its beautiful squares, narrow streets, and colorful houses with balconies decorated with flowers—a true immersion in the city's colonial past. To conclude the tour, we'll have a guided visit to the Getsemaní neighborhood, one of the city's most traditional, authentic, and vibrant areas, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage site.
We will visit the historic Plaza de La Trinidad, the site of significant events in the Colombian independence movement on November 11, 1811. We will stroll through the streets and alleys of the neighborhood, where we will see murals and graffiti that represent the living memory and oral tradition of the people of Cartagena. We will thus experience total immersion in the culture and popular life of Getsemaní. The tour will conclude with the return to the hotel.
