We will begin our tour at the Jewish Museum of São Paulo, which was the former Beth El synagogue.
The visit will be led by a tour guide, where we will learn a little about Jewish life and culture.
We will conduct a participatory activity among the members of the Tour.
We will then proceed to the Jewish Immigration Memorial located in the Bom Retiro neighborhood. With its interactive and audiovisual collection, the memorial recreates, through photos, videos, period objects, and installations, this tragic episode that claimed the lives of millions of Jews in Europe during World War II.
During the journey, there will be a narrative about the immigration of Jewish people to Brazil.
We will visit the Ten Yad Bakery in Bom Retiro (this location may be substituted for another).
We will visit Casa do Povo in Bom Retiro, a cultural center that revisits and reinvents the notions of culture, community, and memory.
We will conclude our tour by sampling Jewish cuisine (location to be confirmed).
