Activity description

The beaches of Normandy made history in 1944, when Allied forces landed to rescue Europe from the Nazi invasion. You'll begin your tour by visiting Omaha Beach, where the Allies took advantage of the Germans. Then, you'll spend about an hour at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer and stroll past the 10,000 white crosses bearing the names of D-Day heroes on each one. Visit Arromanches-sur-Mer, home to the old artificial harbor used to supply the landing troops. A gourmet break will allow you to savor traditional dishes like crepes and cider. You'll visit the impressive battery at Longues-sur-Mer. The tour ends at the Juno Beach Center, a testament to the Canadian soldiers' struggle to end Nazi tyranny.

Possibility to buy souvenirs in Arromanches.

A warm coat is recommended in winter, a raincoat in summer, and a good pair of shoes for walking to avoid discomfort.
