Activity description
Meditate in a Chinese garden in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown
A bit of tranquillity and reflection can do a world of good when the hum of city life gets a bit too loud. Vancouver's Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden has been providing just that since 1986. Meander the serene paths, catching glimpses of koi fish and turtles as you go, and admire picturesque pagodas and reflections cast from the ponds. This Ming Dynasty-style garden-home is the first among its kind to have been built outside of China, and is a unique venue for cultural programming and events, including guided tours, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, receptions, educational and cultural programs. As a registered not-for-profit, all garden revenue goes toward their mission to bring together cultures and communities through educational and public programs. One of Vancouver's top tourist attractions, it's no wonder why it was Canada’s Garden of the Year in 2012 and named the 'World's Top City Garden' by National Geographic.
