- Entrance to Sainte-Chapelle
In the heart of Paris, we will explore the magnificent Sainte-Chapelle, a jewel of Gothic architecture built in the 13th century by order of King Louis IX. Located on the Île de la Cité, just a few steps from Notre-Dame Cathedral, the chapel was built to house precious sacred relics, such as Christ’s Crown of Thorns.
The highlight of the visit are the impressive 15 monumental stained glass windows, which cover almost all the walls of the upper chapel. With over 600 m² of stained glass, they depict more than a thousand biblical scenes in vibrant shades of blue, red and gold, creating a light show that transforms the interior into an authentic medieval kaleidoscope.
In addition to its artistic and spiritual value, the Sainte-Chapelle represents a landmark of Gothic engineering and aesthetics, with its slender structure, high arches and richly ornate details that delight visitors to this day.
