This imposing canyon is located south of Lima, near Ica, from here begins the desert zone and the journey to the Canyon of the Lost.
It's so named because the first expedition was lost, five people who took the wrong path. Like them, many travelers have become lost in this desert. There are several paths that can take you to another destination if you don't know the area well.
ITINERARY
The departure takes place the night before, around 10:30 pm, depending on the starting point.
Depart for the desert toward Cañón de los Perdidos, where we'll detour to the OCUCAJE Desert, also home to a large number of marine fossils dating back millions of years. We'll observe the diversity of hills with layers of different colors.
We will reach the crack formed by the riverbed and the capricious shapes that wind erosion has given it.
Visit to CANYON DE LOS PERDIDOS (CANYON OF THE LOST)
We will make a stop in an area called 'Pampa de Piedras', where we can find a large number of Apachetas (Zen stone towers), built by the many tourists from all over the world.
You can take photos at a rock called 'El Ojo Mágico', which has a natural telescope-shaped hole, where the photos come out with a unique and funny focus.
We'll continue to the Huacachina Oasis, a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert surrounded by dunes and palm trees. Free time for lunch and for those who wish to try the adventure sports of dune buggying and sandboarding (optional).
Departure from Huacachina to Nietto Vineyards where we will take the Pisco Route and taste more than 7 varieties of wines, piscos and macerated wines.
