ROAD MAP
Scenic Tours: Rio's Iconic Beaches
We'll pass several points of interest along the way, such as Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, as well as other notable sites. Please note that the specific route may vary depending on your hotel location and departure point. In some cases, we may not pass by Copacabana or Ipanema beaches.
Ipanema: the inspiration for The Girl from Ipanema
Ipanema Beach, famous for having inspired the iconic song "The Girl from Ipanema," is a beautiful destination that truly deserves its fame and admiration. However, your visit to Ipanema Beach will depend on your hotel location and the specific itinerary.
Tijuca National Park: A lush urban forest
We passed through Tijuca National Park, one of the largest urban forests in the world and home to many attractions, including the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, located within its boundaries.
Christ the Redeemer: A panoramic wonder
When you reach Christ the Redeemer, we'll take you in our tour vehicle from its base to almost the top. The summit is reached by climbing a flight of stairs to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. The view from this vantage point, with the Tijuca National Forest stretching out below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon against the backdrop of Guanabara Bay, is truly spectacular. After some time to stroll and take photos, we'll descend again.
Lunch Stop: Enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet.
The restaurant is a self-service buffet with a wide variety of salads, hot and cold dishes, and desserts. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
Selarón Steps and Lapa: Rio's bohemian rhythm
From Santa Teresa to Lapa, there's the famous Escadaria Selarón, a staircase decorated with colorful tiles. Known for its bohemian and energetic atmosphere, Lapa is the city's liveliest area, both day and night.
Arcos da Lapa: Gateway to Rio's Nightlife
Have you heard of the Lapa neighborhood? If not, you should! It's very easy to know you've arrived in Lapa. There's a famous monument that is the official image of Lapa: the great white arches of Rio's iconic aqueduct.
Cultural Tour: Exploring Downtown Rio
We then tour downtown Rio de Janeiro through some of the coolest tourist areas, capturing sights and culture.
Botafogo Beach: Sights, Vibes, and Hidden Gems
Known for being home to Sugarloaf Mountain and the privileged view it offers of Guanabara Bay, Botafogo Beach hides a little-explored and vibrant alternative life, with bars, restaurants and cultural centers.
Flamengo Park: a tropical urban oasis
Quiet beaches near Flamengo Landfill, with the world's largest artificial park, completely covered in tropical vegetation.
Metropolitan Cathedral: Rio's architectural marvel
Rio de Janeiro's Metropolitan Cathedral stands out among the buildings in the city center. Its unique architecture catches the eye of all who pass by and amazes those who visit. Its unconventional appearance and history make it one of the most intriguing tourist attractions in the marvelous city.
Sugarloaf Mountain: Cable Cars and Breathtaking Views
Next, Sugarloaf Mountain.
A series of two cable cars takes you to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. At the top, you'll once again enjoy some of Rio's most stunning views, this time from a different vantage point than Corcovado.
