Head to the National Museum of Anthropology, the largest and most visited in Mexico. Begin your exploration on the ground floor, slowly discovering the museum's thousands of archaeological artifacts. Enter the Mayan Room to see a large collection of incredible murals, as well as a replica of the intricate tomb lid of Pakal. At the end of the corridor, you'll discover a small-scale model of the ancient capital of Tenochtitlan, the area now known as Mexico City. Also here is the centerpiece of the museum's collection, the Aztec Sun Stone. Dating back to 1400, this calendar has been hailed by archaeologist Zelia Nullal as the "remarkable monument ever discovered in the Americas."
