TourMaras and Moray Off-Road - ATV Tour

Rev your engines and conquer rugged terrain as you visit these captivating locations. This thrilling journey combines excitement with discovery, offering a unique perspective on salt terraces and agricultural wonders.

ITINERARY

We started the tour and took a minivan to our base in Cruzpata, Chinchero (50 min.).

Here we'll have a 15-minute guided practice session, then we'll hand over our equipment and semi-automatic ATVs. We'll also sign a pledge not to drive recklessly, to take care of our equipment, and to protect our lives.

Once ready after the practice, we'll begin our visit to the Moray terraces, a center for cultural experimentation used by the Incas to acclimatize products brought from other areas. Here we can see four concentric circular stone structures forming a kind of ring that widens as they rise.

Next, we'll head to the Sala de Maras mines. This town is important for salt extraction. Since Inca times, it's been crucial for the mineral, essential for human consumption, and it's remained the same during colonial times. We'll go partway on ATVs and then travel the rest by our own vehicle, as there's a chasm and it's dangerous.

On this tour, we will be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the area and the snow-capped peaks of Veronica and Chicon along the way.

Once the 5-hour tour is over, we will return to the base to board the minivan that will take us to the city of Cusco, leaving it near the main square.
