Activity description
This full-day adventure will immerse you in the Peruvian wilderness, allowing you to recharge your batteries in a picturesque setting.
Owl Cave
One of the main attractions of Tingo Maria National Park, located 6.5 km from the town of Tingo Maria, this enormous cave consists of more than six rooms with limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites slowly formed over thousands of years. Furthermore, they feature whimsical shapes reminiscent of natural sculptures, inspiring visitors' imaginations. The cave is home to a significant colony of guácharos (Steatornis caripensis), bats, and insects. Parrots, swallows, and other birds can be found at the entrance.
Los Milagros Lagoon
Known as Huayruros Lagoon or Miraculous Lagoon, it is located 25 km from Tingo Maria, in the village of Los Milagros. This lagoon was visited by shamans many years ago.
The main tributaries feeding the lagoon are two small streams that swell during the rainy season. But they also come from the permanent seepage of the adjacent Mount Belén, which is completely covered in trees and vegetation despite its nearly vertical walls. Furthermore, there are numerous caves on this hill, which are nesting grounds for parrots, macaws, toucans, and other species that occasionally fly over. Likewise, this beautiful place offers boat trips, sport fishing, and hiking, enjoying its flora and fauna.
For adventure lovers, you can camp, hike to the viewpoint, climb and rappel in the middle of the jungle, and if you like to feel the adrenaline and dare to fly in the middle of the jungle, the extreme 1000-meter canopy awaits you.
ITINERARY
We left Tingo Maria at 8:30 am heading to the village of Honolulu.
Next, we begin the trek to Honolulu Falls. Upon arrival, we begin visiting more than six continuous waterfalls, where you can enjoy a unique landscape.
You can also take a refreshing dip in the various natural pools and receive hydrotherapy massages under the pure, crystal-clear waterfalls.
After all this, we prepared for the extreme adventure. Once equipped, we began climbing the hill, through the waterfalls, equipped with ropes, helmets, harnesses, carabiners, and other equipment to reach the Chullachaqui Jacuzzi. This mysterious place is located halfway up the hill between two waterfalls. You'll experience unique emotions and enjoy a moment of adventure in a spectacular, magical, and mysterious place.
Then we began our trek until we reached the Chullachaqui waterfalls. This beautiful jungle spot is hidden in the middle of dense virgin forest.
This place hides many mysteries. Every night of the full moon, Chullachaqui usually comes out to enjoy this wonderful paradise hidden in the middle of the virgin jungle and soak in its jacuzzi.
