ITINERARY
Our tour will begin with pick-up from your hotel and the drive to the upper Nazca Valley.
During the trip, we'll visit the Inca ruins of Paredones, a tambo (a type of tambo) built long ago by the Incas. Here we'll explore the stone enclosures and receive an introduction to Inca history from our local guide.
Next, we'll visit an archaeological site known as Las Agujas, where you can see a huge trapezoid from atop a small hill. Here, our guide will inform you about the various theories surrounding the Nazca Lines, and you'll have the opportunity to see up close a set of geoglyphs constructed over 1,500 years ago by the inhabitants of the Nazca Valley.
Finally, we will visit the Cantayoc aqueducts, where we will witness the great ingenuity of the ancient inhabitants, who in their struggle for survival built underground canals, which are still used today.
Our guide will provide interesting information about ancient hydraulic engineering, irrigation issues, and the Nazca way of life. In the surrounding area, you'll see a natural environment of cotton, corn, and potato plantations (fruits are also available, depending on the season).
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
