ITINERARY
The tour begins with pickup from your respective hotels.
Next, we'll head north toward the Nazca Desert, following the Pan-American Highway. We'll visit the Sitio Maria Museum, an interesting place where we'll learn about the life of Dr. Maria Reiche, a woman of German origin who dedicated more than 50 years of her life to protecting and studying the lines. This site housed Maria Reiche for more than 20 years and, finally, in 1994, was transformed into a site museum.
There, you can glimpse Maria Reiche's life through beautiful photographs taken while she was working in the Nazca desert many years ago. The old hut that was her study center can still be seen today, along with all her belongings, including cameras, photographs, measuring instruments, and other objects. On one side of the museum, you can see Maria Reiche's grave, where she was buried in 1998.
We'll then head to the Nazca Lines metal tower known as Mirador, from where we can clearly see two of the famous Nazca figures: the hands, the tree, and part of the lizard that the Pan-American Highway cuts through. Our guide will explain the theories behind the Nazca Lines.
Finally, we'll head to a natural viewpoint known as Cerro, an interesting spot where many straight lines converge. Here we can walk a bit and appreciate the beauty of the famous Nazca Desert.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
