Visit historic sites like the world-famous Apollo Theater, home to many artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, and many more.
Next, you'll travel north to the Bronx, where you'll see the home of one of the world's most famous baseball teams: the New York Yankees! You'll also learn about the birth of hip hop and see original street art as you stroll the streets.
The tour continues across the East River to the borough of Queens, one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the US, whose residents speak more than 100 languages.
You'll pass through the exclusive Malba neighborhood and see its beautiful homes. Visit Flushing Meadows Park, home of the US Open (one of the oldest tennis championships in the world), as well as the New York Mets baseball team and the Unisphere (a remnant from the 1964 World's Fair). Admire the impressive DUMBO, from where you can see the famous Brooklyn Bridge.
Next, you'll visit the Brooklyn neighborhood, admiring the Williamsburg and Crown Heights neighborhoods, home to one of the largest Hasidic Jewish communities outside of Israel, along with a younger, gentrifying non-Jewish population.
If you opt for the tour without Coney Island, your day ends in Dumbo. Otherwise, continue to Coney Island, a fun and relaxing destination for New Yorkers for generations. If time permits, explore the boardwalk and take time for lunch at the legendary Nathan's restaurant (cost not included).
Finally, you'll return to Manhattan across the East River, passing over the historic Brooklyn Bridge. Please note that the day's itinerary is subject to traffic conditions and may change due to time constraints. Notes: New York State law requires all children to be secured in an appropriate child restraint system while traveling in a motor vehicle until age 8. All children under age 2 must travel in a rear-facing car seat.
