On your first day of this combo tour, you'll travel by comfortable motorcoach to Niagara Falls, enjoying the scenic landscape of upstate New York (travel time is approximately 7 to 8 hours each way). Upon arrival, you'll begin experiencing the adventure, beauty, and natural wonders of Niagara Falls aboard the historic Maid of the Mist cruise or from other observation points, such as the Gorge Walk, or other available observation points (when the Maid of the Mist is not in operation).
During your visit, you'll learn about the fascinating history of these mighty waters and enjoy spectacular views of the falls from various vantage points. After an unforgettable experience and wonderful memories, you'll return to Times Square in Manhattan, arriving between 11 PM and midnight.
Two days later, you'll depart Times Square again, this time heading south to two of the nation's capitals. Your first destination will be Washington, D.C., the current capital, where your tour will begin with a visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial, dedicated to honoring the U.S. Marines.
You'll continue with a visit to the impressive Lincoln Memorial, named after the president who championed the abolition of slavery in the United States. Washington, DC, is the center of the three branches of government of the United States. During this tour, you'll stop for a classic exterior view of the headquarters of two of them: the White House, the residence and office of the President of the United States, and the Capitol, the seat of the U.S. Congress and where the laws of this country are made.
Your visit to Washington ends with free time for lunch.
Your next destination is Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the first capital of the United States, chosen during the Revolutionary War. After a drive of approximately 3 hours, you'll arrive directly in the historic Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Your first stop will be Independence National Historical Park, where your guide will take you on a short walking tour. You'll have the opportunity to see some of the city's key historical sites, such as the Liberty Bell, the famous symbol of American independence, and Independence Hall, the birthplace of the United States. It was within its walls that the founding documents of the United States—the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776) and the Constitution—were debated and adopted.
Your visit to Philadelphia ends with a stop at the Rocky Steps, across from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you'll have the opportunity to recreate the famous scene from the 1976 film by climbing to the top of the steps. Notes: New York State law requires all children to use an appropriate child restraint system while in motor vehicles until age 8. All children under age 2 must travel in rear-facing child seats.
Route operating days may be subject to change depending on traffic conditions, road closures and time constraints.
We also remind you that the Maid of the Mist boat tour operates seasonally, generally between May and October (exact dates are subject to weather conditions) and, in low season, depending on accessibility, it is replaced by views from other observation points, such as Gorge Walk, Terrapin Point or others (access is subject to weather conditions).
