ITINERARY
Early in the morning, the van will pick you up at your accommodation in the city of Cusco.
After picking up all your passengers, you'll begin the approximately two-hour drive south of Cusco to the village of Cusipata, where you'll find a restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast.
After breakfast, we'll continue our journey, departing from the colonial bridge of Checacupe and the South American camelid farm located along the route. Arriving at this small, picturesque village, we'll have free time to use the restrooms and purchase hydrating drinks and snacks. Then, we'll continue our journey for another hour to the trekking starting point, the community of Palcoyo (4200 masl).
The adventure begins with a stunning view of the Bosque de Piedras and, at the same time, some colorful mountains that will indicate that we are already very close to the Cordillera de Colores. After an introduction from our guide, we will begin our hike. The climb will be pleasant and last approximately 30 minutes. During the hike, we will observe a wide variety of South American camelids, and upon reaching the summit, we will be able to admire the imposing Apu Ausangate (approx. 6,380 m).
This place is also unique and magical, as nature capriciously formed this landscape. It is there that we have the respective explanation of the place, then the offering ceremony to Pachamama and, of course, free time to take photos, enjoy and explore the Cordilleras de Colores and the Bosque de Piedras.
After enjoying a peaceful moment in contact with nature and the Apus (mountain spirits), we will begin our return to the village of Cusipata, where we will have lunch.
Later we will return to the city of Cusco, ending our tour at approximately 5 or 6 pm. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
