Activity description
Sugarloaf Mountain, Metropolitan Cathedral, Downtown Rio, Selarón Steps and Christ the Redeemer, all in one day!
In the morning, as we travel along the beaches of Rio's South Zone to welcome guests, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Rio's charming beaches. As you stroll through Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana, you'll hear all about them. Afterward, head to the Botafogo neighborhood, home to Sugarloaf Mountain. But before the visit, we'll head downtown to learn a little more about Rio's history, passing by Guanabara Palace, the famous Rio Sambadrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where we'll make a stop.
After a brief visit, we'll head to Urca and Sugarloaf Mountain. There you'll have some of the best views of Rio. Some locals might say it's the best view in Rio.
The journey to the summit is made in two cable car sections. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a 215-meter-high observation deck offering beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, Flamengo and Botafogo beaches, Santos Dumont Airport, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, the Urca neighborhood, and Corcovado Mountain.
From up there, it won't be hard to understand why Rio is nicknamed the "Marvelous City." After some time up there, we'll descend to an all-you-can-eat steakhouse (if you choose that option). Brazilian steakhouses offer a wide variety of side dishes and alternative options; if you opt for a vegetarian option, you'll leave satisfied. If you choose the lunch-free option, our guide will offer a variety of nearby suggestions that can fit any budget or taste!
After lunch, we'll take a van ride to Santa Teresa, a neighborhood where relaxation and tradition meet. It also boasts street art, such as the incredible Escadaria Selaron. The beautiful ceramic steps by artist Jorge Selarón are unique. You'll have about 10 minutes to admire them.
From Passos de Selarón, we'll depart by van through Tijuca National Park. We'll arrive at the park's visitor center. From there, we'll climb to the statue, where we'll spend some time enjoying the view of one of the world's most famous landmarks.
After boarding the van, guests are returned to their hotels. This full-day tour offers you the full experience of Rio de Janeiro: its main attractions, history, lifestyle, and delicious food. A crash course in its local culture.
