ITINERARY
The exciting adventure along the Derrepente River crossing, known as 'La Ruta del Paraíso', begins with a welcome at our meeting point.
We left Tingo Maria at 8:30 am.
So when we arrived on the other side of the village of Cayumba, we got ready and started walking until we reached the banks of the Derrepente River.
We then begin our adventure by entering the river and crossing its waters. We'll also appreciate the unique beauty of the place and its landscapes. Occasionally, we might spot Galo das Pedras (Rock-throated Rock Thrushes), parrots, swallows, manakins, and other diverse local birds, as well as butterflies of various colors.
After crossing the same river about eight times in a zigzag pattern, we'll come to see two beautiful waterfalls gushing from its hills. These two waterfalls on the Derrepente River are known as 'El Espejo Mágico' (The Magic Mirror) and 'El Sueño' (The Dream). The place is magical and enchanting, where you can appreciate the area's biodiversity.
You can also take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear pools of the same river, and enjoy relaxing hydrotherapy massages at the various waterfalls.
Lunch. Here we'll enjoy our box lunch, watching the impressive waterfall and regaining our strength to return and regain mobility.
The return journey is along the same river, this stretch is pure descent. You also feel the thrill and adrenaline. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
