Every corner of Madrid has a story to tell, and the markets that have supplied the city have been proving this for almost a century. With our professional culinary expert guide, discover true signature cuisine, gourmet products, and a vast wealth of culinary culture, now hidden in the renovated San Miguel and La Cebada markets in Madrid's La Latina neighborhood.
The tour will begin at San Miguel Square, where we'll move on to La Latina, Cava Baja, and Cuchilleros streets, famous for their tapas. There, we'll sample typical tapas made with mushrooms or Padrón peppers (why are some spicy and others not?), accompanied by a beer or cider.
Near the first stop, you'll arrive at Arenal Street to visit a boutique shop specializing in Iberian products, where you'll sample extraordinary Iberian ham and other traditional products. Afterward, we'll stroll through Plaza Mayor and the Barrio de las Letras, where famous poets and artists spent their prime years.
Near Huertas Street, our stop is at an old but renovated bar (or 'Casa de Comidas') to try beef cheeks, known as 'Carrilleras' with mashed potatoes and drink a good wine, preferably red. The route continues walking through Plaza de Santa Ana and the Spanish Theater, many
terraces in this area, and you will feel and be part of it.
After visiting Plaza Santa Ana, our guide will bid you farewell and give you directions to Tablao, where you'll enjoy an intimate flamenco show surrounded by the incredible atmosphere of Tablao Flamenco, a hidden gem in central Madrid. Enjoy your drink during the show.
