On this tour we will visit the city of Mariana, which is called the cradle of Minas Gerais civilization, it was the first capital, city and town of the state, and was also the first seat of the bishopric of Minas. Today the city is the guardian of an important part of the cultural and historical heritage of Minas Gerais, such as the Sé Cathedral, Igreja São Francisco de Assis and Praça Minas Gerais, which house exquisite works of colonial art from Minas Gerais.

We will also visit Mina da Passagem, which is one of the largest mines still available to visit in the world, located in the Brazilian municipality of Mariana, in the Iron Quadrangle area, in the state of Minas Gerais. Located in the district of Passagem de Mariana and measuring around 7,200 km² in length, the Passagem mine is the largest mine in this region with its 30 km of tunnels, with underground lakes with crystal clear waters.

In 1729, the mine's first deposits were discovered, which only began to be explored more than 100 years later. During the gold cycle in Minas Gerais, the Portuguese and English extracted 35 tons of gold. The mine was closed in 1954, but was reopened for visitors in the 1970s. Nowadays the mine is used for tourism and is one of the biggest meeting points for cave divers in Brazil. But the mine is also a great field for researchers who come from all over the world to search for the secrets and mysteries still undiscovered inside.
