Let's visit the Maquiné Cave which is located in the city of Cordisburgo, 120 km from Belo Horizonte. The Maquiné Cave was discovered in 1825. Its scientific exploration began in 1834 by the Danish naturalist Peter Lund.
With seven rooms explored, the cave is full of natural ornaments. Its 650 meters house one of the most beautiful collections of speleothems (stalactites, stalagmites, columns) discovered in the state.
In addition, the Grotto has lighting and walkways, which allow visitors to glimpse its beauties, together with the accompaniment of a guide to the region.

Casa de Guimarães Rosa Museum
The house where the famous writer was born was renovated and turned into a museum in 1974, after passing through several owners. Visitors are welcomed by young volunteers who tell stories about the writer and narrate excerpts from his works. The sale maintained by Guimarães Rosa's father and which operated until 1923 reappeared in the same room; Now it sells souvenirs from the city, and various books. The house is located on a corner, in front of the railway line that runs through the city.
"Peter Lund" Rock Zoo
The square called "Peter Lund" Stone Zoo displays statues of animals whose fossils were found in the Maquiné Cave by Peter Lund, including the Giant Sloth and the Sabre-Tooth Tiger.
Portal Grande Sertão
The Portal Grande Sertão, opened in Cordisburgo at Praça Miguilim on June 27, 2010, the date on which Guimarães Rosa would have completed 102 years of life, constitutes an important artistic work through which the population of Cordisburgo pays yet another tribute to the illustrious son of their land. Designed and created by the artist Leo Santana, the monument “marks the entrance to the backlands of Minas Gerais” and makes reference to what is considered the writer's greatest masterpiece, the book Grande Sertão: Veredas, which in 2021 turns 65 years old. Released in 1956, Rosa's third book narrates the forbidden love of the character Riobaldo for his friend Diadorim, in the midst of the backlands dominated by the fight between farmers and gunmen. The release of the work had a great impact on the national literary scene, even leading to its translation into other languages.

Children from 6 years of age are allowed to visit the cave, upon presentation of an IDENTITY document and accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Children aged 0 to 7 years old must use a car seat or baby seat. If the customer does not have one, it will be necessary to rent it.
- If the customer wishes to use this service, it will be considered extra, with an operational cost, requiring a request

- BABY COMFORT: It is mandatory for babies up to one year old;
