This 10-hour circular tour departs Porto and heads to the Arouca and Vale de Cambra region, offering a day of nature, history, gastronomy, and unique mountain landscapes. Ideal for those looking to escape the urban routine and discover the charm of the northern São Paulo countryside. Leaving Porto, take the A32 toward Arouca, a city within the UNESCO Global Geopark. The first stop is the emblematic Monastery of Arouca, a national monument of medieval origin that preserves beautiful cloisters, a Baroque church, and a museum of sacred art. A stroll through the historic center reveals the town's welcoming atmosphere, with traditional shops and pastry shops offering Arouca's famous convent sweets: chestnuts, black pudding, and cigars. We suggest lunch in the historic village of Serra da Gralheira, with Lafões Veal (PGI) and Gralheira Cabrito (PGI), two high-quality cuts from animals that graze freely in the mountains. After lunch, we suggest a visit to the historic village of Trebilhadouro, a stroll through the town center, and then a return to Porto, the starting point.
