Activity description
This will be one of the most memorable experiences you'll have in Porto Alegre. Discover all the highlights of this beloved city on a half-day tour with an expert guide!
Our tour begins at one of the city's most charming monuments, Porto Cathedral. Located in the highest part of the city, its construction began in the 12th century. Porto Cathedral is considered a National Monument for its religious, architectural, and historical significance.
Crossing the famous Avenida dos Aliados, surrounded by a vast architectural complex with Art Nouveau and Art Deco facades, we'll continue our tour toward São Bento Train Station. This place may be one of the highlights of the tour—the station looks like a veritable tile museum! Its tile panels tell the history of Northern Portugal through stunning blue and white tiles. The main atrium is covered with over twenty thousand tiles!
Enjoy the most exquisite views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, connected by the Douro River, where the iconic Ponte D. Luís I stands out, built by one of the disciples of Gustav Eiffel - the French engineer who participated in the construction of the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Vila Nova de Gaia is famous for its stunning Port Wine Cellars, your next stop. Visit a renowned winery and learn all about the centuries-old winemaking process that underlies this world-famous wine. A tasting of two Port wines is included, the perfect opportunity to savor some of the best.
Notes:
You MUST call Gray Line Portugal up to 48 hours before the tour date to reconfirm your reservation and meeting point. No-shows will not be eligible for a refund.
On the day of your tour, please be ready at least 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time and present your printed voucher to your guide.
