Lagoinha Beach, a popular Brazilian landmark, is the tropical paradise you've always dreamed of visiting. Once a refuge for French pirates, Lagoinha is now a peaceful fishing colony perfectly positioned for views of the lush landscape: coconut palms, white-sand beaches, red sand dunes, and gentle waves lazily breaking on the shores of this natural bay. Located 104 km from Fortaleza, in the city of Paraipaba, Lagoinha is one of the biggest attractions on the Costa do Sol Poente. The area's bars and restaurants offer optional boat trips to Lagoa das Almécegas combined with a ride on a pau-de-arara truck (an open-top truck used as a means of transport by immigrants).
