Day 1: Travel to Ephesus (Efes) and visit the ancient Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, the most important of the 'Seven Churches of the Apocalypse' in Asia Minor. It was here that Saint John brought Mary in fulfillment of his promise to Jesus to protect her. We will also visit the final resting place of the Virgin Mary on Mount Solmissos, where she is believed to have been taken to heaven. After lunch, continue to Laodicea (Denizli), a crossroads of the ancient world. Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Pamukkale (Hierapolis).
Day 2: After breakfast, we will visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, home of Philip the Evangelist. We will then continue to Philadelphia (Alasehir), the youngest of the Seven Churches of Revelation, where we will visit the still-standing remains of an early church and the city walls. We will enjoy lunch en route. In the afternoon, we will visit the ruins of the church at Sardis (Salihli), the ancient capital of Lydia, which holds an important place in mythology. Arrive in the evening in Thyatira (Akhisar), one of the most important cities from which Christianity spread, and visit the ruins of the church. Late in the evening, we will drive to Pergamum to spend the night and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: After a delicious breakfast, we'll visit Pergamum (Bergama), the place where St. John wrote to the church of Pergamum and said, "Satan's throne is set." Pergamum was a health center where treatments such as music and water therapy, meditation, and blood transfusions were first used. These impressive structures date back to 339 BC. After lunch, we'll drive to Izmir (Izmir), where St. Paul praised the early believers for their faithfulness. Next, we'll visit the Church of St. Polycarp before a short city tour.
