In the heart of the city, just a few meters from the iconic Obelisk, lies one of Buenos Aires' most famous tango venues: Tango Porteño, a magical place that virtuously recreates the best years of the golden decade. The luxurious building where Tango Porteño now operates was once the famous Metro Cinema, owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Our show explores the different eras of tango, from its river origins to its most contemporary expression, immersing the audience in an atmosphere of passion, sensuality, disagreements and nostalgia. A wonderful space where the great orchestras of Canaro, Fresedo, Piazzolla, De Caro, Gobbi, Biagi, De Angelis, Di Sarli, D'Arienzo, Lomuto, D'Agostino and of course the unforgettable Troilo and Pugliese who lived and coexisted at that time developed their full potential and in a healthy but demanding competition competed for the reign in Chateclair, Armenonville, Marabu, Tabaris, Tibidabo and many others who disappeared in the relentless transformation of the big city. The scenic display and the meticulousness of the costumes create an unbeatable setting to transport us back in time and enjoy an unforgettable experience reliving that era when all of Buenos Aires was Tango.
