Activity description
Savor our gourmet tapas at Spazio Interior, on the 16th floor of the Barolo Palace, an architectural and cultural icon of the city, and enjoy incredible views from this rooftop.
Luigi Barolo, the textile entrepreneur who financed the building, demanded that it express the majesty of a decade that seemed promising, the golden 1920s. Architect Mario Palanti then designed the building to reflect great class and originality throughout its structure. That's why Palanti designed everything himself, from the elevators to the light fixtures and doorknobs, giving them his unmistakable signature. He also equipped the Palace with the most modern technological advances to position it among the great skyscrapers of the era.
Emulating those imposing structures, he crowned it with a stunning light fixture, a symbol of its importance to the city. Even today, the Barolo Palace Lighthouse is unique and, since it began operating over a decade ago, has illuminated and rotated, illuminating downtown Buenos Aires, thus reaffirming its status as a Buenos Aires icon. In 1997, Barolo was declared a National Historic Monument.
Barolo is recognized for an exceptional feature that makes it unique in the world: its architecture inspired by poetry. The palace is a representation of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy and is therefore conceptually divided into Hell (the building's underground and ground floors), Purgatory (floors 1 to 14), and Heaven (from the 15th floor to the crown).
Salón 1923 is located on the 16th floor of the Paraíso rooftop, following the building's Dantesque segmentation. In 2010, the lighthouse visible from both terraces on our rooftop was declared the Argentine Bicentennial Lighthouse.
They say it brings good luck to toast while looking at the highest point in Paradise, where dreams come true. We invite you to come and see for yourself.
