- Gourmet Beer Tour in Berlin
On this tour we will learn from a historian about the history of what is eaten in the German capital, based on the wars and immigration that took place in the region.
How did potatoes arrive in Germany and become a staple of local cuisine? How did the great world wars affect what people ate? How did immigrants who came to rebuild the country contribute to local cuisine? We will talk about the history of beer, addressing curiosities about the typical local drink and understanding how it almost ceased to exist. We will also learn about the period when Berlin was the beer capital of the world.
The tour is accompanied by period photographs and a beer tasting (not mandatory).
We will visit:
Berlin Palace, medieval quarter (Nikolaiviertel) with local brewery, Alexanderplatz and Lemke Brewery.
Humboldt Forum, Schloßplatz, Berlim, Alemanha. Portão Sanchi
