Strange and captivating, the village consists of a collection of buildings connected by cobblestone streets, passageways, nooks, and secret places. It reflects diverse medieval European styles, blended to create its own eclectic style. It was born from the demolitions, creativity and dreams of one man. Through a mystical path, we travel past the Twelve Little Houses of the Forest, magically transporting us to a fantastical place. Just as all this seems incredible, we encounter fountains, lakes, quebracho bridges for strolling across the islands, a pier, a Dutch mill, a colonial chapel, and a locomotive with carriages. The Museu das Grates, or Ferroteca, is one of the most interesting places, displaying all types of wrought iron railings, hanging chandeliers, stained glass windows, antiques, and art pieces. Also noteworthy are the buildings where the materials used in their construction are the focus, such as the Casa de Pedra (Stone House), the Museu da Madeira (Wood Museum), or the Palitos (Slag House). Additionally, you can visit the Owl Passage, the Caireles Museum, the Cabildo, the Cascina, the Casa Proa de Barco, and hundreds of secret spaces.
