- How to Regular: Tour of El Escorial, Valley and Segovia
A half-day tour full of history and culture.
We will leave Madrid in a comfortable bus with an official guide and head towards the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
During the trip, our guide will introduce us to the history and context of the monastery, built in the 16th century by Philip II.
Upon arrival, we will take a guided tour of the different rooms of the complex, such as the Royal Palace, the Basilica and the Pantheon of the Kings. We will be able to admire the austere and grand architecture of the monastery, as well as its impressive works of art, such as paintings by El Greco and Titian.
After visiting the Escorial, we will head to the Valley of the Fallen, a monumental complex built in the mountains of Madrid to commemorate those who died in the Spanish Civil War. We will visit the Basilica, an impressive construction carved into the rock, and the outdoor esplanade, where there is an enormous cross 150 meters high.
Return to Madrid and free time for lunch on your own and departure for Segovia at 3 pm.
Arriving at our destination we will take a tour of the historic center.
We will walk through its cobbled streets, admiring from the outside monuments such as the Plaza Mayor, the Casa de los Picos, the Church of San Martín and of course El Alcázar, the former fortified residence of the kings of Spain.
Visit to the Cathedral of Segovia: accompanied by our guide, we will have the opportunity to enter and admire the majesty of the Cathedral of Segovia, a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture. We will tour its naves, chapels and cloister.
