Welcome to Las Ventas Bullring! The most important arena in the world. Whoever gives everything and takes everything? The greatest reward for those who make it through the Grand Gate and a challenge for those who barely consider it.
The Plaza de Las Ventas was built in 1929 on the Las Ventas del Espiritu Santo site, for which it is named. It is the largest bullring in Spain, with a total area of 45,800 square meters and a capacity of 23,797 people. The Las Ventas Bullring was declared a Historical Artistic Heritage Site in 1994. The largest event held at the Las Ventas Bullring is undoubtedly the San Isidro Fair, which established it as the best bullring in the world.
The Madrid Bullfighting Museum is located in the Patio de Caballos, in an emblematic section of the building, and boasts a collection that offers a clear and harmonious overview of the history of bullfighting in Spain. Its works include Goya's bullfighting engravings, dressed as 20th-century bullfighters, a section dedicated exclusively to Manolete, and a large collection of testimonies from Las Ventas.
During the tour, you'll now be able to enjoy virtual reality features, where various moments from the San Isidro Fair are recreated in 360°, including the public's entrance into the plaza, moments of a bullfight, and the shoulders of the bullfighters. These 360° virtual reality features are located next to the gift shop.
You can also feel like a bullfighter with our Virtual Bullfight, an innovative, unique game located between points 3 and 4 of the route, on the top floor of the Las Ventas bullring. Using virtual reality headsets and controllers, our visitors will have the opportunity to use the muleta (red cape) and fight a brave bull inside the Las Ventas bullring, fully immersing themselves in the experience and playing the role of a true professional bullfighter.
