And so that you don't waste time wandering aimlessly, I want to take you on an incredible tour to discover the HISTORIC CENTER OF SÃO PAULO.
We'll take a walking tour and I'll show you São Paulo in a way you've never seen before. The historic center of São Paulo, known as "The Triangle," hides incredible places and stunning architecture. You'll be amazed!!
Some of the places we will be passing through:
We will begin our tour at the Monastery of São Bento, and I will tell you the history of this beautiful Basilica in the Boironese style.
We will proceed to the Pátio do Colégio, where everything begins in the city of São Paulo. We will learn about the history and curiosities of this place, an oasis in the middle of the bustling city. Here we will visit the Chapel of Anchieta.
We will visit the Solar Da Marquesa De Santos, and the city's number 1 house, which today feature art and culture exhibitions.
We will visit the São Paulo Cathedral, the largest Gothic temple in Latin America, home to the largest pipe organ and the site of numerous landmark events. If we are very lucky, we will also visit the Cathedral's crypt, a spectacular place, with a guided tour. (Tickets not included)
The first bakery in São Paulo is Santa Tereza, and there we're going to try the famous coxa creme, the best coxinha in the city.
In Largo de São Francisco, we will visit the Church of São Francisco de Assis and the Church of the Seraphic Father, two incredible churches built using the rammed earth technique, which hold historical treasures and much sacred art. In the same area, you will see the first law school in São Paulo and an interesting feature found on the school grounds.
We'll pass by the most famous building for its history, the Martinelli Building, and I'll tell you all about this construction that caused a lot of confusion and was marked by a past of terror and decay.
We finished our tour in front of the Santander Lighthouse.
