- Private Tour of the Historic Center of Vila do Conde

Between historical charm and contemporary serenity, Vila do Conde is the ideal destination to explore calmly, without crowds. Wandering through its old streets and alleys, you'll discover a city rich in history, traditions, and landscapes that connect the interior to the coast.
We will begin in the riverside area, where the Ave River meets the Atlantic in a setting that blends nature, culture, and local life. We will then proceed to the imposing Santa Clara Monastery (14th century), built atop a hill with privileged views over the river and the ocean.
The experience continues at the Shipbuilding Museum, housed in a former shipyard, and the fascinating 16th-century ship, a faithful replica of a ship from the 16th century that transports us to the Age of Discoveries. We will also visit the Royal Customs House, a historic control point for maritime trade, and D. João II Square, dedicated to the great Portuguese voyages.
Among the architectural gems, we will find the Chapel of Our Lady of Help, situated on a hill overlooking the Ave River and adorned with beautiful 18th-century tiles, as well as the Bobbin Lace Museum, which preserves a centuries-old tradition passed down from generation to generation.
The route also reveals the Town Hall, housed in a 16th-century building, the Chapel of Our Lord of Agony (18th century), and the Church of St. John the Baptist, built in the 16th century.
For literature lovers, a visit to the José Régio House, birthplace of one of the greatest names in Portuguese literature, is a must. Following that, the Vila do Conde Memory Centre presents a contemporary cultural space that connects past and present.
We conclude our visit in front of the monumental Aqueduct, built between the 17th and 18th centuries, which completes the city's historical landscape.
