We depart Madrid for the beautiful imperial city of Toledo, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Toledo is one of the oldest cities in Europe, with buildings that blend architectural styles such as Arabic, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance, and Baroque. It is also called the "city of three cultures" because Christians, Muslims, and Jews lived together here. The great painter El Greco lived in Toledo in the 16th century.
Enter the heart of Toledo with our expert guide, visiting the Jewish quarter and the convent area, with thousands of stories and legends dating back to the centuries before the Muslim conquest. We'll discover the city's most emblematic places, its history, its corners and anecdotes, and its main monuments, such as Toledo Cathedral, whose architecture is a wonderful example of Spanish Gothic style.
Next, we'll head to one of the best-known areas of the province of Toledo to visit a vineyard, and along the way, we'll be amazed by the beautiful landscape that transports us back to Roman times, when the Via XXV Augustobrigam-Caesarobrigam-Toletum crossed these lands.
We'll arrive at a prestigious 200-year-old vineyard with a unique atmosphere. We'll enjoy a guided tour of the winery, where we'll learn about the production, aging, and fermentation processes of 'farm wines,' and have the opportunity to taste a carefully selected selection of four different wines, accompanied by the extensive knowledge of a professional winemaker.
Next, we'll visit the vineyards, which are key to ensuring the excellent quality of the wine, thanks to their fertile clay and limestone soil, which already boasted prestigious vineyards in the 11th century.
At the end of the tour, we will return to the center of Madrid in a comfortable luxury Mercedes van, where the guide can recommend activities and things to do during the rest of our stay in Madrid and the surrounding area.
