We will depart along the highway towards the charming town of Marinilla, an authentic colonial treasure renowned for its tradition in the production of musical instruments. During the journey, we will appreciate a breathtaking landscape composed of green meadows and mountains that frame the path to our next destination.
We will continue our journey to the municipality of Peñol, one of Colombia's main energy generation centers. There we will visit the impressive dam built over the city's old historical center, which was completely submerged to make way for this grand feat of engineering.
Next, we will arrive at the imposing Piedra del Peñol, a 220-meter-high monolith with 724 steps on its staircase — the climb is not included, it will be optional for those who wish to venture out and conquer one of the most beautiful views in the region.
After this experience, we will take a break for lunch and enjoy the typical local cuisine in a welcoming setting on the banks of the reservoir.
In the afternoon, we will visit the charming town of Guatapé, famous for its colorful facades and zócalos — decorative reliefs on the walls depicting scenes of daily life and elements of local culture. We will conclude the tour with a pleasant boat trip on the reservoir, lasting approximately one hour, where we can contemplate the natural beauty of the region.
To conclude the day, we will return to Medellín, taking with us unique memories of this cultural, historical, and natural journey.
