Depart at 7:15 a.m. from our agency in central Paris for an exceptional day at Mont-Saint-Michel. Enjoy the journey in a luxury, air-conditioned coach to relax and admire the beautiful verdant landscapes of the Normandy countryside; arrival at Mont-Saint-Michel is expected around noon.
After lunch, begin your guided walking tour of Mont-Saint-Michel Island, a splendid rocky and fortified peak from the Middle Ages, surrounded by a vast bay with the highest tides in Europe. Stroll to the top of the island where you'll find the fascinating and unmissable 8th-century Benedictine abbey, a three-level Gothic architectural marvel dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael. Explore the cloister, the abbey's refectory, and the authentic garden overlooking the sea.
Then, explore the site freely, with its typical fortress walls and pathways. The landscape is breathtaking—a stretch of sand stretching all the way to low tide, or the sea surrounding the island at high tide. You can also visit the village museums, sample delicious crepes, and enjoy the shops and lively atmosphere until 4:30 PM. Return to Paris is scheduled for approximately 9:15 PM.
