ITINERARY
Pick up from hotels located in the center of Puno and transfer to the port.
Arrival at the port and boarding the boat to begin our boat trip to the first point, which is Uros Island; which we will reach in an average of 30 minutes. On the way, we will be able to see part of Lake Titicaca.
Upon arriving at the island, we'll see a group of people dressed in traditional regional costumes, who will give us a warm welcome. As we disembark from the boat, we'll notice that the islands are floating underwater; we'll sit down to listen to our guide, who will give us detailed information about the islands' origins, the materials used for their construction, and how the people live there. After the explanation, we'll have time to take photos and visit the locals' homes.
Optionally, we can visit a second island on totora rafts (S/. 10 price of the tour) where you can taste some typical dishes of the region or buy local handicrafts.
We continue our journey on a journey of approximately two hours across Lake Titicaca to reach the natural island of Taquile, where we begin our hike, ascending for approximately 40 minutes. Heading toward the island's main square, we'll visit the textile museum, its colonial church, and much more.
Then we'll have lunch. Our meals consist of quinoa soup as a starter and a trout-based main course. Traditionally, we drink coca or muña mate, which are excellent for warding off altitude sickness and stomach pain. Our guide will explain the island's history, the locals' clothing, and their main products.
We will have free time to take photos and then we will begin the descent to the port to board the boat and begin the return to the main port of Puno.
