Enjoy a full-day tour of the most beautiful and important historical sites outside of Mexico City: Puebla, Cholula, and Tonantzintla.
You'll begin your day departing from Mexico City. During the journey, you'll pass through stunning mountain landscapes as you head east. Admire the stunning and beautiful views afforded by the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, currently active and bearing large glaciers on their cones. After this enchanting journey in a comfortable bus, you'll arrive in the historic city of Cholula.
This site is named after the goddess Cholula, known as the goddess of life, light, and fertility, which is why Quetzalcóatl was considered a sacred city. From here, we'll head to Santa María de Tonantzintla, a unique church that combines two coexisting religious interpretations: Indigenous and Christian. In fact, it's considered the most representative church of Indigenous Baroque art. Besides visiting this beautiful monument, you'll have the opportunity to learn even more about the history and culture of this unique place.
But the visit doesn't end there! You'll visit Puebla, known for its traditional cuisine, colonial architecture, and ceramics. Here, on a tour with a local guide, you'll visit the Cathedral and the historic center of Puebla, on a beautiful tour that will take you to the most important and iconic sites of this 'City of Angels.'
Before returning to Mexico City, you'll have the opportunity to sample local cuisine, visit the Parian Market, and enjoy some free time to explore the surrounding area on your own. This is Puebla's most famous crafts market, boasting over 112 shops decorated with Talavera bricks and tiles. Here you'll find all kinds of traditional crafts from the region, including its iconic tableware, wax figures, and all kinds of ceramics.
Without a doubt, it's a cultural, traditional, and scenic tour, where you'll get to see many iconic places from all over Mexico!
