- Museu Egípcio de Canela

Creator of the itinerant museum, plastic artist Essam Elbattal, who was born in the city of Sharkia, Egypt, has always shown a deep inclination for the visual arts since childhood, at the age of 16, he was already dedicated to creating works inspired by ancient Egypt, basing his research work by renowned international Egyptologists. The artist's private collection consists of more than 400 pieces, including a pyramid over 8 meters high, mummies, sarcophagi, burial chambers, which are replicas of the most famous historical artifacts on display in the museums of Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor , Louvre, London, Berlin and Vatican, within a thematic space of over 1000m². The Egyptian Museum of Canela promotes an exciting journey through the rich history of Ancient Egypt. The grandeur of the architectural remains, the richness found in the pyramids, ruins and tombs, the mysteries created around the art and the constructions themselves, all contribute to making the history of the land of the pharaohs a throbbing and current subject. A visit to the Museum makes it possible to discover a reality that was hidden for thousands of years in the midst of ruins, buried in the sands, forgotten in the old inscriptions that nobody, until two centuries ago, nobody knew how to translate.
