This 3-day tour will definitely reveal the most beautiful and fascinating sights of Transylvania and the surrounding area.
The trip first takes you to the Olt Valley region, where you'll visit the Cozia Monastery, built by Mircea the Elder. The Cozia Monastery is one of the most valuable monuments of national medieval art and architecture in Romania. It was painted between 1390 and 1391, and some of the original frescoes are still present. The Cozia Monastery also houses a museum of ancient art: ancient manuscripts and engravings, embroidery, and religious objects.
Next, you will visit Sibiu - the astonishing medieval city of Transylvania, once the largest and richest fortress in Europe, today a city of art and culture, which has the power to fascinate; during the walking tour of the Old Town you will see: The Grand Square, Liars' Bridge, Brukenthal Palace and the Clock Tower.
After Sibiu, you'll explore two other incredible cities, full of medieval charm and history: Alba Iulia and Sighisoara. Alba Iulia is like a journey back in time: you'll visit the Alba Carolina Fortress, the Alba Iulia Museum, the Alba Iulia Catholic Cathedral, and the Obelisk dedicated to Horea, Closca, and Crisan. The Alba Carolina Fortress is the largest and one of the best-preserved in Romania, unique in European military architecture. Sighisoara is a unique and well-preserved medieval citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and still inhabited today, with landmarks you'll have the opportunity to see: the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, and Dracula's House.
This trip will also give you the opportunity to discover Brasov—a perfect blend of stunning mountain scenery and medieval history with German influences. You'll admire the best of Brasov on a walking tour, including the Main Square, the Old Council Hall, the Black Church, the medieval walls, and the defensive towers.
After Brasov, the journey continues to reveal one of Transylvania's most popular tourist attractions, Dracula's Castle, which is shrouded in myth and legend. Bran Castle, famous worldwide as Dracula's Castle, is an impressive 13th-century hilltop fortress that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and provides insights into Romanian history, as it once played a key role in protecting the region from invaders.
From Bran, you'll depart for Sinaia, where you'll visit unique and remarkable sites such as the Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle, one of Europe's most impressive castles and an architectural masterpiece, offering visitors breathtaking mountain scenery. One of the oldest and most famous mountain resorts, known as the 'Pearl of the Carpathians,' it was also once the summer residence of the Romanian royal family.
