The energy generated by Itaipu also produces another spectacle. Marvel at the energy emanating from the enormous turbines to illuminate the dam. Before the lights are turned on, two presenters and a video shown on large screens tell the history of the hydroelectric plant and explain its grandeur. Suddenly, in the darkness, the concrete dam is illuminated by 747 spotlights and 112 luminaires, with a soundtrack created especially for this presentation. Visitors watch the presentation from the central observation deck, where the plant can be seen in operation during the day. To get an idea of ​​the beauty and grandeur of this scene, the energy consumed by the display would be enough to illuminate a city with 15,000 inhabitants. The display is even more charming on nights with a full moon.
