Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, with about 95% of Thais practicing the Theravada discipline of Buddhism. Therefore, it's not uncommon to see monks walking the streets of Bangkok. This small group half-day tour takes you to Bangkok's three most sacred and significant temples—Wat Pho, Wat Traimit, and Wat Benchamabophit. The first is Wat Traimit, known as the Temple of the Golden Buddha, which houses a 3-meter-tall Buddha statue made of over 5 tons of solid gold. Then, we head to the second temple of the day—Wat Pho. It's known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha because of its large statues, which, at 46 meters long and 15 meters high, are the largest in the city. The final temple of the day is Wat Benchamabophit—the 'Temple of the Fifth King'—which is famous for its intricate Italian marble details. To conclude the tour, there's a visit to a lapidary factory, where you can browse handicrafts, jewelry, and silk.
