The first is Maeklong Market, a unique shopping scene nestled along the train tracks. Dating back to around 1905, this seafood market is one of the largest in Thailand. Feel the excitement as vendors clear away their stock in a matter of minutes before a train approaches and passes through their stalls.
Slow down a bit in the Baan Rim Klong community, where you'll meet locals and learn about their traditions. Watch as workers impressively climb coconut trees and then extract sugar from the fresh fruit. You'll also learn how baskets are woven from palm leaves before helping prepare "Kanom Thai"—a popular Thai dessert. Finish things off at a local restaurant, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch.
Experience a unique shopping experience at Maeklong Railway Market and learn about coconut farming and palm sugar production in Ban Rim.
