A stroll through a reddish ravine, where each geological formation sculpted by wind and water will provide you with beautiful postcards of the foothills, a more than deserved prelude to Cafayate, the heart of the Calchaquí Valley where the sun always shines and the best wine awaits you. The city of Cafayate is considered the land of sun and wine. Located in the Calchaquí Valley, 180 km from the capital, Salta, you can enjoy one of the most impressive and well-known routes in northern Argentina. You'll leave the city of Salta, traveling through the center and south of the Lerma Valley, and then enter the Quebrada de las Conchas Nature Reserve. A 90-km, low-lying road will take you through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills dominated by orange and red. There you'll find landforms sculpted by Mother Nature, such as La Garganta del Diablo, El Anfiteatro, Las Ventanas, Los Castillos, La Yesera, El Sapo, and more. In Cafayate, you'll have the opportunity to visit a winery and taste the region's finest wines. Although the region is often referred to as Torrontés, the area boasts a large number of hectares dedicated to red grapes such as Malbec, Tannat, and Cabernet Sauvignon. After lunch (not included) you will return to Salta by the same route. During the tour, stops are made to walk and take photos.
