Embark on an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Nahuel Huapi National Park, where the majestic Cerro Tronador stands guard over the eternal snows and hanging glaciers. Its imposing presence and the echo of its ice falls, which resound like thunder, will reveal the mystery behind its name. The journey begins in Bariloche along the iconic National Route 40 South. Along the 45-km route, we'll enter landscapes that seem to have come straight out of a story. We'll cross the Huenuleo Pampa, skirt the crystal-clear Lake Gutiérrez, and cross the Pilmayen and Melgarejo streams, each curve offering unforgettable postcard views. Upon reaching the watershed, we'll encounter the serene Lake Mascardi, whose waters will guide us along a charming gravel road to the turnoff to Tronador. From here, the landscape transforms: we'll circle Mascardi again, this time along its mystical western shore, until we reach the Isla Corazón viewpoint, a breathtaking panoramic vista. The route will take us past the enigmatic Cerro Los Emparedados and along the winding Manso Superior River, until we reach Pampa Linda, the ideal place to enjoy an incomparable view of the imposing Tronador. As we continue, we will cross the Vuriloches Valley, a hidden natural paradise, and pass through a lush, shady forest that will lead us to the fascinating Ventisquero Negro, a masterpiece of nature. The excursion culminates at the base of Cerro Tronador, a colossal work of nature with its 3,454 meters above sea level and its three peaks: Internacional, Argentino and Chileno. Notes: Entrance to Nahuel Huapi National Park is not included. It costs approximately AR$20,000 for foreigners and AR$7,000 for Argentines. You pay at the park entrance.
