7:30 AM: Your tour guide will meet and greet you at Exit 1 of Myeongdong Station and take you in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the DMZ in Cheorwon.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at a rest area on the Korean Highway. Then, continue your visit:
The Military Demarcation Line, sometimes referred to as the Armistice Line, is the land border or demarcation line between North Korea and South Korea, established by the Armistice.
The second tunnel is the widest and largest of all the tunnels in Korea and is also the closest to North Korea. The 3.5-kilometer-long tunnel, built by North Korea and discovered by South Korea in 1975, served as a secret invasion route for a possible sudden attack on Seoul.
The Cheorwon Peace Observatory offers a panoramic view of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea) in the central area of Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do. From this observatory, visitors can see the Cheorwon Plain, areas of the DMZ, and even North Korea. Photographs of the 2nd Tunnel, military barracks, checkpoints, and the DMZ are on display here. Visitors can easily reach the observatory using the 50-person monorail, see the remains of the ancient Taebongguk (nation), and even observe the faces of North Korean soldiers through binoculars.
Woljeong-ri Station (Iron Triangle Battlefield) is the last stop before reaching the DMZ. With the sign "The Iron Horse Wants to Run Again," it contains the remains of a train that made frequent trips to North Korea. Located at the site of the fiercest battle during the Korean War, this train marks the dividing line of the Korean Peninsula. Today, Woljeong-ri Station is under the control of the Cheorwon-gun Office, and hundreds of thousands of people visit this unique tourist area every year.
Workers' Party of Korea Headquarters: This three-story building located in Cheorwon-eup was built in 1946. Used as the Workers' Party headquarters until the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25, it is now a tourist attraction that still bears traces of the Korean War.
Enjoy a delicious lunch with Bibimbap, one of Korea's most famous and beloved dishes. Even those unfamiliar with Korean cuisine have likely enjoyed this delicious meal at some point in their lives.
Afterwards, you will return to Exit 9 of Myeongdong Station, marking the end of an enriching tour.
