As you'll learn on this full-day guided tour, the Douro Region is of immense importance to wine culture thanks to its excellent wines, including Port. For over 2,000 years, Port has been produced in the Douro by traditional landowners.
Our first stop is Amarante. This city became very important after the arrival of Saint Gonçalo (1187-1259)—one of the most famous saints in Christian history. He settled here after his pilgrimage to Rome and Jerusalem, making it an important religious stop in Portugal. You can visit the convent and church, but also admire its beautiful bridge over the Tâmega River or explore its beautiful historic center.
Our day will continue at one of the most amazing spots on this tour: the Galafura viewpoint. Also known as the São Leonardo da Galafura viewpoint, this place will take your breath away. From its 640-meter elevation, you'll have a privileged view of the Douro River and the surrounding landscape. We promise you, this is one of the highlights of this tour.

The tour continues to Pinhão, one of the most beautiful and charming villages in this region. Stop for a relaxing 1-hour scenic cruise on the Douro River. Admire the stunning natural landscapes and stunning vineyards. Enjoy!
